WELCOME TO THE INTERNATIONAL CENTER

Perhaps you are thinking about moving to the United States, or maybe you are already in America and are looking for information about the American culture and way of life.

In either case, the International Center could be a very helpful resource for you.

We specialize in providing information about the American public school system, and offer programs to help new international families adjust to the different style of education in the United States.

We feature the "WorldPath Language and Culture Studies" program where students can learn languages not normally offered in US high schools. We offer classes in Hindi, German, Italian, Mandarin Chinese and Russian. We also offer classes in German Literature for native speakers of German. These classes help maintain a high level of writing and comprehension in the German language. Click on the WorldPath button for more details.

The International Center is affiliated with the International Academy, a public high school that offers the International Baccalaureate curriculum to all its students. The International Academy recently received the #1 ranking (2003) and #2 ranking (2005) as the best high school in America by Newsweek Magazine.

We also work with the Oakland Intermediate School District, a regional service agency that supports all public schools in Oakland County. We are located in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, which is just a few miles north of the city of Detroit.

Please take a few minutes to explore our web site. You may find helpful information about American public schools and interesting events for expatriate families. If you have any questions, just contact Mrs. Van Dusen for more information.
